2022 Industrial Design Outstanding Award Winner, Natalie Borgese

NICA | Noiseless Intensive Care Alarm

Natalie Borgese

NICA changes the way nurses communicate and work with medical machinery by offering a changed method of notification that utilises different senses other than hearing.

Congratulations Natalie on an Outstanding Design Award!

Supervisor | Pierre Proske

Throughout the development of my project NICA, we explored ways that designers can work in collaboration with healthcare professionals to create effective medical technologies and interventions.

Being able to work closely with the ICU staff from Cabrini Hospital is what elevated my project and outcome to a realistic standpoint, as suggested by the validation given by these healthcare professionals.
